Title: Harpeth Rising Concert
Post by: harpethrising on November 27, 2013, 12:00:12 PM
Voted 'Best Local Band in Nashville' by the Tennessean, the classically trained musicians of Harpeth Rising bring an exciting and distinctively new sound to the folk genre on violin, banjo, cello, percussion, and vocals. Their newest album (Currently No. 6 on the International Folk Charts) remains true to Harpeth Rising's Appalachian, bluegrass, and classical roots throughout, while it expands on their blues and Latin influences and adds in some new flavors such as Texas Swing and Gypsy Jazz (currently No. 6 on the International Folk Charts).  The quartet will be returning to the Little Rock Folk Club for a special CD Release Show on December 7th at 7:30pm.  The Little Rock Folk Club holds its concerts in Thomson Hall of the UU Church of Little Rock (1818 Reservoir Rd.).  Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for students with ID, and free for children 12 and under.  Reservations are available at 501-663-0634. The concert was originally scheduled for December 7th, but was rescheduled to December 13th due hazardous road conditions created by winter weather.
