Adam Carroll & Owen Temple are gonna be doin' another song swap at the WWT 7th/Thayer.
There are a couple of great Texas songwriters, both havin' cds produced by Lloyd Maines(steel guitar playin' father of Natalie)
These two guys spend enough time on the road together that they've created a character they call Gary Floater. Gary is a fictitional Nashville songwriter who is underneath the radar who writes songs in the "styles" of other songwriters. You won't have any trouble recognizing these styles either. they peg the guys they are lampoonin' with their own lyrics to songs like the "Dirty South".
Adam Carroll has a song called "Mr Errolls Song", about a farmer/duck hunter takin' the time to pass on the huntin' knowledge & ways...I played it at Gadwalls last fall and got a $20 tip from a Duck Hunter dinin in there. Adam is a master of songwriting..i can't warn ya enough!
I've seen these guys at least 3 times at the WWT and have enjyed each show. The WWT has even taken now to tryin' to hush up the folks who just don't understand that you can't be "too" loud when a solo act is playin'...the WWT folks are tryin' hard to make it bringin' in a variety of music and they should be applauded and supported in there efforts. Hope to see some of ya there.

Hey Ya'll, I get the extreme pleasure to open a show at Studio Joe's on Wednesday July 1st, for Five Bucks you get to see a short set by me and then to make up for that..Greg will put on a show that will make the economy all better again!
If you don't wanna take my word for Gregs credentials...check out his myspace site or go to www.gregklyma.com...or you could ask Courtney about him too. Courtney was lucky enough to catch most of Gregs show at Norms on the 15th.
but then again...Courtney will probably be more biased than me if he's lucky enough to catch some of Greg antics down there at the Kerrville folk Festival

If you don't know who Travis Linville is, and you like guitar players who are "versatile"..you should check out Travis....who do you think he's named after?
But Travis' pickin' can go from Merle Travis pickin' to some of the sweetest countryfied stratocastin' right on up to rockin' the house down and then he can slow it down with old time blues ala Leadbelly.
I'm thinkin' this is a solo show so there probably won't be the rockin' part..but you won't go away unimpressed. Travis is a great songwriter, harmonica player and did I mention anything about pickin'?
WARNING: WWT is a smokers haven..but I will say this...I hate smoke probably as much or more than anybody...but I've been able to tolerate these shows..because a lot of the young ig'nint folks don't appreciate the talent that is paraded through the WWT.
Come, feed the animals, be entertained as it was meant to be!

It's the last Saturday in May...as good an excuse as I can think of to treat yourself to some great BBQ or Catfish...and a hefty dose of some Hayes Carl & Todd Snider tunes.
And of course if there's a pickoid in the crowd..you just know they gonna get a chance to "show out"!

It's the last crawdad Thursday of the season for Walkers BBQ...and if mudbugs ain'cho game..they got some of the finest ribs around and the catfish jus' might make you slap yo mama!
Now I ain't sayin' ya should go around slappin' yo mama, but these groceries is good!
They got a full bar..they start servin' the 'dads around 6pm
I'll start my antics around 7:30/8pm.
And of course all pickoidals will receive a complimentary glass of water..with real cold ice..just for the askin'! ;D
