Mark your calendars for two upcoming events:
Fingerstylist Chris Proctor will do a workshop at Sigler Music Company on Monday, May 3 at 7:30 PM. Admission is $5 (cheap). First come, first served. Proctor is a former National Fingerstyle Champion and several fine recordings to his credit. He's played a couple of times at Acoustic Sounds and really puts on a good show. He sinks occasionally into some banal stuff, but makes up for it with amazing displays of tapping, sweep harmonics and walking bass lines.
Virtuoso guitarist and singer Leo Kottke will appear at the Wildwood Center for the Perfoming Arts on June 26 as the wrap up for the Cabaret Series during June's Wildwood Festival. No, you won't have to listen to opera. Some of you may remember Judy Collins out there a couple of years ago, and the chance to see Leo in that great concert setting shouldn't be missed. Tickets are available ($35) from Wildwood.
